403WORLD

Build it right, one step at a time

The roadmap

These are planned milestones, not release promises. The new game is in early development. First World is now an early playable starter build: an original plaza, the chosen avatar, account and character creation, walking, local chat and one separate equipment layer. This is not the complete adventure described below.

Inspect the current avatar and street cap using the same compositor as the game.

1 · Establish the visual language

Define the 403 world's palette, characters and architecture. Lock down sprite dimensions, animation frames, feet anchors, equipment attachment points and map layer rules. Review a small art sample before producing full sets.

2 · Build an isolated foundation

Start from the existing server and browser-client technology in a separate environment. Keep EOWorld's live accounts, maps and worlds untouched. Document what is reused, what must change and the licenses involved.

3 · Create the first original place

Build a compact original map with its own tiles, buildings and NPCs. Add collision, interactions and one complete quest. Check every animation frame and equipment overlay in the real client.

4 · Deliver the first playable slice

Connect movement, combat, rewards and inventory. Test desktop, mobile, loading, audio, reconnects and accessibility. Invite a small group to play and fix the rough edges before expansion.

5 · Grow the world

Expand original environments and storylines. Evaluate gathering, housing, parties and other established systems for the new setting instead of assuming everything fits unchanged.

6 · Prepare public release

Finish moderation, account security, backups, support, documentation and release checks. Publish availability only when the original game is ready to play.
